David Horvick, M.D. is a board certified radiation oncologist. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University. He earned his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He remained at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as an intern and resident in Internal Medicine. Dr. Horvick completed his Radiation Oncology residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
After completing his Radiation Oncology residency, Dr. Horvick joined the staff of Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania. He was appointed Chief of the Division of Radiation Oncology. He instituted programs in prostate seed implantation, high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR), stereotactic radiosurgery and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). Dr. Horvick has performed hundreds of radioactive implant procedures to treat malignancies in all parts of the body.
While at Abington Memorial Hospital, Dr. Horvick participated in the residency training programs for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and for Drexel-Hahnemann University Hospital. He held faculty appointments at both institutions.
Dr. Horvick co-authored a textbook chapter and a number of papers on various radiation oncology issues. He is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Medical Association.
